The unique Panasonic Toughbook 19 fully rugged PC by is a convertible-style computer that can be used as either a rugged laptop or as a rugged tablet pc. With the release of a button, the screen swivels to fold flat and becomes a tablet PC.

The base model Toughbook 19 comes standard with a "finger-touch" touch screen and runs on Windows XP Professional* in laptop mode and Windows Tablet PC when in tablet mode. The screen can be upgraded to include a "stylus-touch", also known as a digitizer screen which allows for handwritten input and handwriting recognition.

The CF-19 comes standard with a shock mounted hard drive, which allows the disk drive to withstand drops as well as shock vibrations that are prevalent in a moving vehicle. Its magnesium alloy case makes it much stronger than an off-the-shelf computer. Because all of the ports on this computer are fully sealed, the Toughbook 19 is protected against the outside elements such as rain, dust and moisture. Additionally, if you are using this computer in the military, the Toughbook 19 was designed using MIL-STD 810F test procedures.
